That was the most painful thing to watch. The amount of racial essentialism, lies, and coded eugenic language coming from Trump. And I wouldn't mind if a sneak new candidate came in for Biden.

My MA student, Chelsea Rose, is defending her thesis in a couple of weeks analyzing frailty and mortality risk at Early Bronze Age Karatas! An incredible amount of work and I’m excited to see it come to fruition!

My first AAA in Toronto is a wonderful way to both get exposed to so many new ideas and ways of doing things in anthropology but also get my fix of being back up north and needing a coat. It’s a double win for me.

For the second year in a row, the course I’m teaching on race and racism has been cancelled three weeks before the start of the semester. While it’s due to not meeting a minimum for enrollment, it just contributes to the constant attack on these issues in Florida.

Today was a joy of being called “an abomination for being a dude in a dress.” Which was simply rude. I am not a dude, it was a skirt, and it was a beautiful rosy pink color. It deserved more respect.
