@Chrismholt I bet you top dollar that thing can keep a secret. After all, is not going to crack under pressure, is it?
Still using #Windows7? #McDonalds is loving it!
Fun computer facts: the mini PCIe pinout includes a USB data pair, so many mPCIe wireless modems are actually just USB modems, using a really involved connector. You can get breakout boards to use them with USB-A sockets.
A Big Set Of Logic Gates For Teaching The Basics Teaching students about logic gates is often done in two parts, once on the whiteboard for the theory, and again on the breadboard for the practice. [shurik179] wasn’t a fan of the abstraction between eas… hackaday.com/2021/01/24/a-b…
Thank god for #RAID. Well, not #RAID0 because that's not RAID, the "R" stands for redundant and there is nothing redundant about RAID 0. #ITnightmare
@Wevel50000 @hackadayio @beneater But is it a computer or a CPU? Because I'd say it is a CPU, not a computer. Not that being one or the other one changes its awesomeness (if that's a word...).
An update for my 16 bit homemade computer. Mostly because I haven't talked about it for a while (writing a compiler takes a a long time) #electronics hackaday.io/project/174192…
Neat! Half-Sized Pentium CPU Card with Integrated 2MB Display PCI-586HV circuitspecialists.com/pci-586hv.html
@kiwapebretech @Foone And... Suprise surprise... I've just googled it and you can actually get a PCI board with a Pentium CPU (which is a fully operational computer). Half-Sized Pentium CPU Card with Integrated 2MB Display PCI-586HV circuitspecialists.com/pci-586hv.html
@kiwapebretech @Foone Another one that was/is quite interesting: The Intel Xeon Phi based on the second generation Pentium architecture (P54C). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xeon_Phi
@kiwapebretech @Foone They already exist... Not so much a 486, just a bit faster... Intel NUC Elements intel.co.uk/content/www/uk…
The IBM System/360 revolutionized the computer industry in 1964 by using a single architecture across the product line. The popular Model 30 was a low-end machine with up to 64K memory. It weighed 1700 pounds and rented for $8000/month, bringing IBM $1 billion annual revenue.
No wonder they were starting to #overheat, the poor babies couldn't breath!!! #ITnightmare
I need to get me one of these... Well, first I need to get me a Sun Microsystems SPARC workstation but once I get one, I'll get this SunPCi.
@TechConnectify Language has evolved through typos.

@TubeTimeUS You should make a board to hold 4 of these...
@maxon3d Are you aware of this bug in Cinebench R23?
I've been looking at this Cinebench R23 bug in more detail, apparently on systems with more then 1 thread per core, the .txt file with the results it's missing one line, CBCPUX. If you add the line manually with the value from CBCPUXPEAK, it fixes the problem.
