This man vs. bear thing reveals 1) many women don't know anything about bears, and 2) many women don't know anything about men.

It's really encouraging seeing pride flag stickers that say "Everyone is welcome" in all those shop windows. 100 years ago they'd throw you right out of the supermarket just for being trans.

I still do not understand why some lefties treat the term "reactionary" as pejorative. Is it reactionary to put out a forest fire? To provide treatment to the sick? Seeking a return to the status quo is sometimes the better choice. Change is sometimes for the worse.

There's no way on earth I'd ever publicly use a term like "person of colour" just so that in 20 years people can search through my past posts and publicly shame me for using such a racist term.

Hey @BretWeinstein, does this plan involve reducing population density and de-urbanizing? I've been saying since 2020 that to have a pandemic, you need both a highly transmissible virus AND sufficient population density. But I never saw any discussion of addressing the latter.

I wonder what proportion of vegans and vegetarians are secretly anorexic. I would suspect that being able to present one's self-destructive behaviours as a mark of moral superiority makes recovery less likely and more difficult.

I think most universities should replace their Latin motto with the phrase, "I agree with everything that's already been said, and I just wanted to add..." @AAUP, you know you're not teaching your students to think.

I'm not seeing discussion of "Trump Anxiety Disorder" after 2020, even though many people are still suffering. But contrary to what the clinical psychologists say, the treatment is not to become an activist, but, as with other fears, carefully re-assess the extent of the danger.

Before insisting that #loveislove, think about the logical implications of this idea. Is there some kind of love you might reasonably take issue with?

I don't understand why @AAUP or anybody thinks that student protest on campus is important, let alone a right. I consciously chose not to be involved in any activism as an undergraduate, despite my beliefs, because I was there to learn--not to presume I already had the answers.

Hey @Docstockk, I've been looking for a reasonable feminist philosopher to consider this argument: If we have moral rights, and if rights are ultimately grounded in needs, and if we need (some) sexual intimacy, does this not imply that there is a duty to provide sexual intimacy?

Try philosophical counselling! It's an approach that requires more reasoning and less emotional disclosure (both usually preferable to most men), and, while it's a rather small field, it hasn't been captured by political ideologues.

Hey @HJoyceGender, do you know why the trans flag uses colours generally known as "baby pink" and "baby blue"? Does this reveal anything? In some ways, it almost seems like an anti-puberty movement.
