One of the sneaky best golf feelings is hitting an absolutely trash tee shot and then figuring out a plan to still make par. Trash tee shot pars are up there with tap-in birdies imo. We all can hit perfect shots here and there, it’s the Spiethian pars that truly rock.

I've been around a lot of 15 handicaps. Been around a lot of tour pros. The truth is, golf can — like a magic trick — make you *think* you just hit a Tour-level shot, but other than proximity to the hole, absolutely nothing a 15-cap can do is similar. The lie is the gift.

The golf buddy trip is an interesting thing. Brings personalities together & packs golf & social relationships in a tight timeframe. I’m good at the golf part…not so much the social part & the energy of go, go, go…which perhaps more important than the golf part of these trips.

@_KeithCook @ZZGolfs402 It was a great course fortunate. I got to play on it. I was in my early 20s had no money so to get onto the private course was pretty special.
@_KeithCook @ZZGolfs402 I used to play this private club that let guest play after 1 o’clock and they would come out with a ruler and measure your short pants and being tall. I had a hard time finding long enough short pants it had to be within 4 inches of your knee.
One of the sneaky best golf feelings is hitting an absolutely trash tee shot and then figuring out a plan to still make par. Trash tee shot pars are up there with tap-in birdies imo. We all can hit perfect shots here and there, it’s the Spiethian pars that truly rock.

I've been around a lot of 15 handicaps. Been around a lot of tour pros. The truth is, golf can — like a magic trick — make you *think* you just hit a Tour-level shot, but other than proximity to the hole, absolutely nothing a 15-cap can do is similar. The lie is the gift.
A 15 hcp can hit a tour-level shot at any moment. But an average baseball player can't throw a 95 mph heater or hit a 400-foot HR. I think this is part of why golf drives us insane sometimes. We get glimpses of grandeur.

@_KeithCook Talamore has improved leaps and bounds over the last 5 yrs. From the clearing out of trees between 18 and 15, halfway house, driving range, bunker upgrades. Really solid. Mid South is also right there at the top. Southern Pines from the Blues is extremely tough.
@_KeithCook Try Tot Hill Farm in Asheboro, just a few miles (50) north of Pinehurst. A Mike Stranz goodie. Been revamped recently along with the costs but a gem. Target golf with quirks if you know Mike Stranz. I love it.
@_KeithCook Too bad you missed Pine Needkes and Mid Pines. Better than all those IMO.

Miles Russell became the youngest player to make a cut on the @KornFerryTour this week at age 15 and 5 months. He’s T26 thru 2 rounds. Last year, Russell became the youngest male @AJGAGolf Player of the Year, beating a 32-year record held by Tiger Woods.

@_KeithCook I live an hour south of the Area. Only one I've played is Tobacco Road and it is tough!!! But also a diamond amongst precious Gems!! Beautiful course and layout. Well worth the trip just to play it!! I'm hoping to recieve a miracle gift of US Open ticket this year!!
