@TipOfTheBanana This is what cochineal (cochinilla) looks like. White outside, deep red when crushed.

@DiscussingFilm basically 100% copied Roy Andersson aesthetic. The sets, the light, the composition, the pasty faces.

@auteurhouse Its a strange list. Mostly of modern directors with a recent body of work, and then theres Kubrick stuck in there. Obvious of omissions from recent times who should be there instead of others would be Cameron, Ridley Scott, Park Chan Wook, Wong Kar Wai and Terrence Mallick

@ib63319 PTA closer to Kubrick than Nolan.

@ib63319 Regarding The Oddysey. I think time will not be kind to it. His decisions on it smell like artistic hubris.

@ib63319 Case in point being Oppenheiner. Nolan shied away from showing the effects of the Nuclear explosions on the people of Japan. Instead he just shows Oppenheiners reaction at watching a slide show. Nolan pussied out.

@Luminouslead kubrick was imperfect as a filmaker, but he was fucking brave. A true artist. Nolan, on the Other hand, seems to always shy away from anything even slightly controversial in his films. Always watering down anything that could dry up the money for his next project. A money man.
