P4B have been enjoying the lovely weather. Yesterday we took our reading and spelling outside. We worked in pairs to find our spelling words hidden in the trees and we challenged ourselves to write super sentences.

This! I love the concept of a hinge question on a MWB. I’ll be using this strategy as I work on being more intentional about assessment FOR, not of learning. @XpatEducator teaching one pagers are such an efficient way to learn about and incorporate evidence-based practices. 👏

P4B have been exploring good vocabulary that we can transfer into our writing. We found synonyms of some adjectives using dictionaries to help us, identified good vocabulary in a text and created some similes alongside practising our spelling words.

P4B have been exploring artists. We shared our opinions on the work of Jen Stark and Charles Rennie Mackintosh before using it to inspire our own art. We used watercolours to recreate Mackintosh’s rose and bright colours to decorate our word for the year in the style of Jen Stark

P4B have had a great Christmas Jumper Day. We followed instructions to make christingles and then we applied our knowledge to write our own instructions. Our Christmas dinner was delicious and we were all looking very festive.
