Both are supervised consumption sites (bars) except one has a regulated supply of drugs with labels and percentages so you know exactly what you're consuming to reduce the harms. #harmreduction

If you claim to want to help people who use drugs but do not support harm reduction then you do not actually want to help people who use drugs, you just want to selfishly and forcibly impose your belief system on others. And you are also denying all objective scientific evidence.

In one of my classes a few years ago, we watched a therapy session for someone w/ a diagnosis that I once had. I just sat there while people expressed their unfiltered judgments… Be careful of how you talk about patients and disorders— you never know who’s listening.

Clinical words used colloquially can be invalidating & confusing. “OCD” and “bipolar” are not adjectives and “manic” and “anorexic” have specific meanings. Mindfulness of language is important & kind. While we want to normalize mental illness, we don’t want to informalize it.
