Classical Christian education with interactive classes and real community. You CAN do "school at home".
Agree completely, Eric. Also, @_WilsonHill Academy helps parents do "school at home",delivering live classes with master teachers and a carefully constructed scope & sequence; the new "homeschooling".
Congratulations to them and you!
My AP LAtin students: 5: 50%; 4: 33%; 3: 8%; 2: 8%; 1: 0%. Compare the global stats from Trevor Packer below. Score another win for @_WilsonHill . Six of those students are now taking Greek 1, and five of those six are also continuing to read Ovid with me outside of class.
You may have missed my point (or maybe I missed yours). At Wilson Hill the 1:22 ratio is common, WTH some classes capped at 16 or 18. With very few exceptions the max is 1:24 -- the standard 5X5 Zoom display where everyone is "face to face".
@BobD_Austin @_WilsonHill Thanks for making my point. Instead of 1 teacher herding 22 students we'll get... 1 MASTER TEACHER herding 2,200,000 students! Which one has the ability to do the most damage? What might a MASTER TEACHER teach 2,200,000 children? How many children should ONE teacher teach?
This is why our writing classes @_WilsonHill Academy focus on analyzing short passages to understand why they "work" and then trying to imitate them as a way of developing a personal "voice".
You don't become a better writer by taking better writing classes. You become a better writer by reading better books.
I have been thinking a lot lately about the way AI is changing everything. We still teach students *how* (rather than what) to think @_WilsonHill Academy, but this article on the way AI has broken hiring is indicative of the problem: brodzinski.com/2025/08/broken…
@_WilsonHill Academy can help! WilsonHillAcademy.com — online on purpose since 2014.
You don’t have to send your kids back to public school on Monday. Make a clean break. Withdraw them. Start a good book as a family. Take a hike. Watch a documentary or a historical movie. Make lunch together. And start researching your curriculum options. You don’t have to set up
Our office is closed today in honor of #PresidentsDay. We look forward to serving you tomorrow!
@Xia__Dia @rebelEducator @_WilsonHill operates in Canada live online classes teaching students *how* (not what) to think.
@anwtutor @ddmeyer Yes. We kicked off an AI task force this week to look into how to teach students to leverage AI to help them think better (not avoid thinking). Would love to be part of this conversation [@BobD_Austin]
This is a false dichotomy. At @_WilsonHill Academy (among others) we teach AP science courses without omitting the “why” component. Moreover, an attempt to separate the ideal/theoretical from the applied/incarnational seems like a step away from biblical wisdom.
Another Classical difference: STEM vs. Classical Science
A child's education is the foundation for the rest of their lives. Nothing is more important to get right.
Great argument for classical education. @_WilsonHill Academy we teach teenagers *how* to think; not what to think.
Often educators today no longer want to liberate the mind; rather, they want to “transform” young people and recreate them in their own image. ftmag.co/3P1Bfla

Check us out at wilsonhillacademy.com too. Providing a classical Christian education that teaches students how to think. Live classes online on purpose since 2014. Helping homeschool parents prepare their children for life.
If you're interested in homeschooling, you should follow: • @HippyMomPhD • @CherronSue • @HannahFrankman And you should read @thecolesummers' autobiography "Don't Tell Me I Can't," and @Kerry_edu's "Unschooled."
The image on the left is Budapest last night, on the Feast of St. Stephen. The image on the right is NYC 1956, on Easter. My friend James Card observes: "What was unthinkable in Hungary in 1956 is happening in 2023, and what happened in New York in 1956 is unthinkable in 2023." @PM_ViktorOrban @BalazsOrban_HU
So true. Join us at Wilson Hill Academy (online on purpose for ten years) to join in “the Great Conversation” — learning HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
One of the awful side effects of instant gratification culture is that one's ability to understand anything before yesterday is greatly diminished. This is why so many people are prone to blind ideological loyalty (cult-like behavior) and not informed thoughts and opinions.
And we are here to help those homeschoolers maintain high academic standards without the wokeness.
Why the rapid rise in alternative forms of schooling? For every traditional homeschooler who always saw themselves as such, there are two more that are doing it reluctantly. They are leaving behind a conventional / coercive school that didn't work for their family and looking
@larissaphillip Thanks for sharing that, Larissa. As you quickly figured out, homeschooling is hard. We founded @_WilsonHill Academy to help. Challenging Classical Christian curriculum; 100% live classes with master teachers; opportunities for live & virtual community building; fully accredited.
School choice is on the march! Across the country, state policymakers are advancing legislation to empower families with the freedom to choose the learning environments that align with their values and best meet their kids' individual learning needs. Here's a roundup 🧵 1/8
