“The new priest reads the Gospel from the middle of the aisle. It’s a nice touch, bringing the Word of the Lord into the congregation. But with the gospel comes the thurifer and their burning censer. The incense is more overpowering than the smoke from last night’s fire.”

“Rescued a family from their apartment two blocks down tonight. Fire caused by a faulty waffle iron. It was an hour ago and the smoke is still grating my lungs, my skin and hair reek of it even after two showers.”
