I wanna ask my fellow artists here, do you feel obligated to stick to a specific style/ genre/ type of your art to progress in it? I mean sure, consistency is important but wouldn't you rather discover and experience everything that you possibly could?

You can’t just downsample a picture and call it “pixel art” in the same way you can’t clip tf out of your master and expect it to sound loud and clear. A great artist understands and works within the limits of the medium.

An 'independent' artist has a lot of different meanings in current scenario... imo, if you own your 'Masters' it qualifies as independent. Owning your masters will mean you have the control over where, how and when your music goes out..
