What’s actually crazy about this is that just because you get paid at a certain tier, it doesn’t mean the work between these tiers is all that different.

@Broadcom pays senior engineers more than Meta or Netflix. Median $565k. @OpenAI and @databricks are also in the S-tier. Since most tier lists going around are based on Levels.fyi data anyway, here's the official one, by senior engineer total comp. Minimum

After 12 years in the SF Bay Area, I experienced it all. My house and car were broken into, my car was stolen, and I was even robbed in the middle of the night while walking to my car. I’ve been in Chicago for a month now, and I have left my car running with my laptop and keys on full display without any issues.

Nothing beats watching the early stages of a build. Witnessing @viditb figure out the true form factor using just printouts right across from me during the @bitrig @ycombinator hackathon was a delight. 🚀

Forward deploy engineering continues to become the best route for new builders. If you’re early in your career, I would recommend you check it out.

There's got to be a service where I can pay some kid to build and launch vibe-coded tools for me for my business. I don't want to spend 6 hours of my Sunday prompting and cussing out Codex. I would pay $1000 for that if it turns out great. Seems like an easy way for young guys
