Little things make me happy. Guy comes in with presyncope. Brother died of “heart thing” at age 16. Get an ECG. Seen it many times in books but in nearly 25 years in ED, first time in real life. Ran to show residents. Teaching rounds. It’s gonna be a great day.

Transported my pt for stat CT with my resource RN and his HR was 130 Got to the elevator and HR was 90 While in the elevator, HR 50-60s Ran down the hall with the stretcher to get to CT to finally have a legit room to call a code for the unresponsive pt with HR of 38 😳

Tonight, I have the pleasure and the privilege to make my ALS homecare patient's day, and quite possibly his life. Being diagnosed with ALS is like going to the casino knowing that every hand you're dealt is a losing one. Well today, my patient is being dealt a winning hand.
