Dear Society, Teachers want to stay in teaching, but many are being forced to choose between their mental health, happiness and financial stability, or stay in teaching. And this is not a teacher problem, it is a societal view and treatment of teachers problem.

These comments are appalling. It’s not up to women to fix this. It’s not us who need to change. The problem is male violence, not women’s ‘failure’ to find ever more inventive ways to protect ourselves against it. For change to happen, this needs to be accepted by everyone.

Lots of men asking how to help rn. Call your pals out. I mean it, this is the biggest one. The single biggest and easiest one you can ALL do. Derogatory joke about women? Call it out. Predatory behaviour you rationalise away as "boys being boys"? Call it out.

“the phenomenon of the government paying teachers for not very much teaching”. So tiring seeing constant teacher bashing in the media. As if we haven’t spent the last year trying to teach online (with no resources/time to adapt) and then months trying to catch kids up...

So proud of myself for securing a full time teaching post for the next academic year, but I can’t help but feel deflated it’s another fixed-term contract in a new school, probably teaching a new stage. Praying I’ll secure a permanent post next year #letusteach
