@MarkJCarney Northern builds like this live or die on logistics. Every bridge crew and access road crew up there needs cold-rated PPE and fall protection that survives resupply gaps, not just meets code. Whoever locks in as the site supplier early stays there for the life of the project.
@CFIB Distributors are part of that 50,000. Several I talk to are absorbing US-sourced steel and MRO cost increases right now rather than repricing, betting the trade war ends before it hurts margins. That bet is getting more expensive by the week.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
True. But in marketing, people flip this backwards, they treat a failed tactic as permanently dead instead of asking if the market moved. Tariffs just changed the market.
Old tactics deserve a second look.
Canada's $27.6B in counter-tariffs (Sept 8) hit steel, appliances, farm equipment, and plastics at 15-50%.
US-sourced steel safety gear and material handling equipment just got pricier. Canadian-sourced alternatives now have a real price edge.
Boston 2026: hurt my hamstring at km 30, heartbreak hill, 12k still to go. No loop back, just a straight line to the finish.
Walked. Jogged when I could. Finished in 3:30.
Life’s the same. No shortcuts, no loop back. Don’t stop, keep going.
Construction is underway on BC's North Coast Transmission Line.
Multi-year infrastructure build = multi-year demand for electrical, safety, and site supply. Not a headline moment, a long runway.
Watching who wins the contracts as this ramps up.
You don't discover your potential by waiting until you believe you're capable.
You discover it by repeatedly acting on faith before you know the outcome.
