Before parents evenings commence, let’s just make it clear that saying a child is “quiet” is not valuable feedback at all… this attracts a plethora of negativity to a child who’s essentially just behaving themselves.

When you have a difficult, disrespectful, and defiant student, my biggest tip for you… is to have lots of conversations with them when they are not in trouble. These conversations are where you build rapport… and that rapport makes future confrontations less likely.

How therapeutic is it spending time on your own in your classroom with the music on, tidying up/organising? I was in school at 6.45am today to tidy some shelving and it was 1000% worth the early morning. It’s so organised now 😍 the dictionaries are colour coded😍

I've got an idea for a TV programme: You take internet trolls who claim teachers are lazy and put them in charge of a class for a week and see how they get on. It's called 'A day in their shoes' (but it lasts a week and is basically Wife Swap without the wives)

Going on holiday tomorrow for the first time in almost two years and I keep going to say ‘get me on that plane’ but I’m not going abroad and ‘get me in my car’ doesn’t really have the same ring to it 😂🚗 still so excited tho 🤗🤗

Writing cards to my two Year 11 classes, one class all the messages are like ‘thank you for all your efforts and amazing writing’ and the other is like ‘I have enjoyed our chats about fake tan and weddings’ haha you have to love the variety of this job🤣
