Two days before Meme Madness launches, Cade quietly changed a mechanic that breaks strategy advice already being shared. On August 22, CEO @PopPunkOnChain posted this, almost in passing: "As we approach the start of Meme Madness... predictions end 15, 30, & 60s before 1, 3, & 5m markets end." Read that again. Predictions now lock 15/30/60 seconds before a market's 1/3/5-minute window actually closes. You can no longer act in the final seconds of any market, full stop. Here's why that's not a minor detail: at least one detailed strategy already circulating leans directly on the exact thing this rule removes. The move was to watch a market's pool odds shift late, then enter right before close on the logic that the last seconds carry the most information — comparing "entering with two minutes remaining" against "entering with 20 seconds remaining" as different plays. That specific entry window doesn't exist anymore. If you're running that strategy on Day 1 expecting to act at the buzzer, you'll find there's no buzzer left to act at. The practical fix: shift your decision point earlier. You now need to commit with at least 15-60 seconds of unresolved uncertainty still on the clock, not zero. That's a real change to how thin-market entries and last-second reads should work, not a cosmetic one. Worth noting: this isn't Cade going quiet about it. It was volunteered publicly, unprompted, same as the date push and prize increase before it. The rules document hasn't caught up to the tweet yet, but the mechanic itself looks real and deliberate, probably aimed at closing exactly the sniping behavior the old version rewarded.
