I am enrolled in a class at UC Irvine to learn about research in animal science and become a voice on Twitter about animal-related issues.Joined January 2024
"Coyote killing programs such as prized contests result in mass executions and make a cruel game of inflicting misery and death on these animals." #39canimalsaldf.org/issue/killing-…
"Communities that are aware of potential hazards associated with coyotes, including their behaviors, attractant things (like compost), and likely shelter spots, can take strategic control methods to prevent conflicts."

On a global scale, governments can pass bills to outlaw wildlife-killing contests. In the United States, Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Vermont, and Washington have taken this action. hsi.org/news-resources…#39canimals
I learned about the appalling conditions animals are subjected to in industries such as fur farming. The cruelty that these species endure is inhumane and I leaned how essential it is to foster awareness for this issue. #WhatILearnedin39C
During the course of the class I learned a lot about coyotes - how they behave/interact, the issues they face, the perceptions humans have of them and solutions to coexistence with them. #WhatILearnedin39C
I learned how to use Twitter as an advocacy platform and to gain a specific audience that have similar interests and goals. I also learned how to properly research on the platform to gain a better understanding about animal cruelty. #WhatIlearnedin39C
From one of the TIME articles, I learned that sometimes, animals possess advanced behaviors and communication that may surpass human understanding. However we can learn to value the beauty of this and create an appreciation for their intelligence. #WhatIlearnedin39C
It's important to recognize the parallels between climate change issues and animal issues. Human activities that accelerate climate change not only have negative consequences on the environment, but affect populations such as arctic foxes as well. #39canimals

It's disheartening to hear that oceanic pollution may cause the decline of penguins. Penguins are vulnerable because they are dependent on healthy oceans for their food supply. Ingestion of plastic and habitat degradation due to oil spills contribute to the issue. #39canimals

Wow! I had no clue that this species was even endangered. Education is definitely important concerning painted dogs to create an understanding about their importance and how to coexist with them. #39canimals

I think one good solution for this issue are public awareness campaigns. They can also play a vital role in educating drivers about the importance of slowing down in wildlife-prone zones. #39canimals
As climate change gets worse, birds face disruptions in their migratory patterns, altered breeding seasons, and habitat loss. We need to uphold our responsibility to coexist with wildlife. #39canimals
