Putting the unpleasant situation with covid-19 aside, online PhD econ classes so far are not less informative than in-person classes. On top of that, they have the advantage of rewatching the class over and over again, not to mention the travel time they save.

I believe this mandatory shift to online lectures will be a turning point for how social sciences' lectures are given. As long as online courses are feasible and the lecturer is fluent with online tools, I can't see how in-person education can be better than online.
