I wrote this close to a year ago and just found it in my notes app, and I feel it more than ever so I thought id post it I’ve been thinking for a while, the opposite of AI music maybe isnt human music. It’s making music. The process is the magic. I think anyone whos been lucky enough to make music, or make anything, has been able to feel this in different ways since forever. I think this is maybe why ive felt no pull whatsoever to even try it. I place so so so much of my identity in that process, and I haven’t found that to be a negative place to put it. So I have really no desire to do less of that bit. Because that bit is kind of where I find myself most clearly and it’s also my meditation, daily compass. Giving the process bit to a machine would be intrinsically contrary to what I love about the whole thing. The clumsy dedicated tumbling towards an idea isss the thing we are most lucky to get to do. The hours and hours and years and years of endlessly trying to make the thing you wish could exist. Theres lot of things im worried about AI threatening, but that will never be one.

Understanding the game makes all the difference. 3 PSG players picked up injuries yesterday. Dembélé suffered a left thigh injury and will be out for several weeks. Marquinhos injured his right thigh and will also miss several weeks, while Kvaratskhelia suffered an ACL tear, ending his season. Hansi Flick decided to rest Rodri, took Pedri off in the 60th minute, substituted Raphinha and Espart early, and kept Gordon on the pitch because he is the least injury prone of the players available. He knew this was going to be a physically demanding game, and pushing his players too hard could have cost us dearly, especially when our entire defence is already dealing with injuries. We simply cannot afford to lose more players. Just imagine, PSG’s players had 10 days of rest before this game and still suffered these injuries. Now imagine the risk for our players, who had only just returned from the game against Betis, following the trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray. I criticized Flick too, but we also need to understand the context behind his decisions. With the injury crisis we already have in defence, we can’t afford to lose more players. We may understand the value of these decisions later on. At the end of the day, we haven’t been eliminated from the Champions League.
