I flew another wind farm this week. Mapping the locations of the underground tile lines helps layout the turbine placement. The soil scars are visible after a recent tile system installation. I also use thermal mapping to detect older tile lines too.

EC Mapping on a golf course to map soil variability. The sensor does NOT disturb the turf and shows aggregated sub-surface properties such as soil type, soil moisture, compaction, salinity, and tree root zone. Use the maps to probe the problem areas using TDR and soil sampling.

We started to analyze data from our HS ACS 430 crop sensor. It is really interesting. A mower fleet of these relatively inexpensive sensors could revolutionize nitrogen applications in turf. Unlike passive sensors on drones, active sensors can be used in low morning light.
