Tried to avoid the comments when I wrote this earlier this month. Too personal a thing to share, I suppose, and so the emotions were raw. Catching up now and am thankful it resonated. A chapter in the memoir one day, to be sure.

I would actually argue it’s just as isolating being a childfree woman when having children is the societal. You feel very out of place when you’re not in the same place as your peers. The joys in my life are not met with the same celebration as pregnancy and child rearing.
This is not my normal sports content, but I’m childfree and I can’t stand these generalizations. I’ve found parents are the ones dropping their CF friends due priority changes or assumptions that we don’t care. There’s a lot of self isolation.
Aggressively anti-child people never want to talk about how new mothers often end up isolated and abandoned by their childless friends after having a baby because sitting with a new mom or doing an activity with a toddler is just a bridge too far for their "friendship".
Having spent a good amount of time out here for work now I can conclude that every exposure to the Highway 42/40 cluster takes 3 months off my life

Mike called UConn games for Big East Network when I was a student SID and he got me to keep stats on four Celtics games for SportsChannel New England, two in Hartford and two in the old Garden. Forever thankful for the opportunity he gave this college kid.
Mike Gorman called Big East games before he went to the Celtics. As a young writer treading in some deep water at the time, he was friendly and encouraging and it meant a lot. Hope he has the greatest retirement.
