My tax dollars pay for roads I'll never drive on, national parks I’ll never visit and schools my children will never attend. We call this “living in a society”. In exchange, we get safety and community and don’t have to bang rocks together to make fire. It’s pretty great!
@aaronhoyland I guess having affordable daycare to keep parents in the workforce and earning more money to further stimulate the economy doesn’t benefit her. Hm.
@aaronhoyland The kids in daycare right now are going to be in the workforce one day, paying taxes and helping make society better. I benefit from society being better. Seems like an easy choice to invest in them and their families.
@aaronhoyland I’m happy for the parents who are getting the break on daycare costs. Jealous and green with envy that I didn’t have it back in my day. But it means our country is progressing and switching its priorities. Maybe there’s hope for our health care.
@aaronhoyland @CountFloyd2020 Totally agree with you, except for the part about the government providing us with safety. Let it rip=not safety.
