Director of "Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng 수능, 출제의 비밀", Lee Jaeyong, revealed the behind story of SIWON's special appearance in his latest interview Regarding SIWON's special appearance as a National Intelligence Service Agent, he recalled, "Even though it was a special appearance, he had quite a lot of screen time, so CHOI SIWON asked me, ‘Does this really count as a special appearance?’" He continued, “The character’s name was originally Sae kang yeong (literally, ‘Tinted Glasses’). Throughout the film, he keeps wearing glasses, but there’s one scene near the end where he takes them off. I wanted to cast an actor with a dignified lower face and comical-looking eyes. However, there were hardly any actors who fit that description. We also needed someone recognizable to the public.” He added, “As it happened, we got connected with SM Entertainment, and even though it was only a special appearance, CHOI SIWON gladly accepted the offer.” He went on to explain, “CHOI SIWON has such distinctive facial features, doesn’t he? There was no way to conceal his identity with just sunglasses.” He also mentioned CHOI SIWON’s chemistry with Lee Sunbin in Work Later, Drink Now, saying, “He had such great chemistry with Lee Sunbin in Work Later, Drink Now that I wondered whether we should make use of that, too. In the end, we incorporated a little of it into the post-credit scene. Please look forward to it!” Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng 수능, 출제의 비밀 follows Maeng Boram, a Korean language teacher who is unexpectedly selected for the CSAT question committee, a Level 2 state secret. It depicts her 40-day experience of isolation during the committee's secluded retreat. The movie will be released in South Korea on October 28th, 2026 🔗m.entertain.naver.com/home/article/1… #수능출제의비밀 #UglyDucklingMsMaeng #시원 #SIWON #최시원 #CHOISIWON @siwonchoi
