If you worry about winning or losing, you are suffering the game, not playing it. Play.
Worried about presenting to experts? Because they already know what you'll say? No worries! With personal stories, vocal variety, and body language—you'll add flavor to what they already know. They'll appreciate seeing old information in a new context.
Please reduce wordy phrases. For example: - made a decision to sell = decided to sell - conducted interviews with applicants = interviewed applicants - made contact with Joe = contacted Joe - Ensured resolution of software bugs = Resolved software bugs
@MohamedSabry21 Well, I appreciate any retweets. 😄
Don't try to impress anyone. If you deal with people from a place of need, you'll make a bad impression. Just focus on adding value.
@GrammarGirl Nice article. Maybe the "dis-" prefix is also related to the slang word "diss."
@PaulMDomenick "Take action before you're ready."
@ShannonBwrites If your workplace is also your setup for virtual meetings, make sure you get a laptop stand to elevate the webcam to the right level. Then use a wireless keyboard and mouse for convenience.
Want to emphasize something in your speech? Do a karate chop as you state your point! (no joke)
Failures are the stepping stones to success. The fear of failure is like the fear of taking a step toward your goal. The opposite of success is not failure; it is "not trying."
Fame is not the goal. Fame is only a tool to impact more people. Look beyond the glory; the goal is to serve.
@robertgriker I learned how to cook Indian food! 😄
@GrammarGirl I know the struggle. If it's not confidential, let the community help! 😆
Don't be attached to the outcome. What matters is that you take the right action.
“theater and improv should be a part of K-12 education because it is such a powerful tool to build interpersonal and social-emotional skills like being confident, understanding different perspectives, adapting to new people and situations” the74million.org/article/how-im…
Don't pursue happiness. Pursuing happiness is an unpleasant experience. Happiness cannot be pursued. You generate happiness from within yourself.
You're not for everyone. It's okay if some people don't like you.
Did you know that eating bananas can reduce your anxiety? Eat one before your next presentation! instagram.com/p/CQ5CdbsL6_J/…
Before you speak to people, set your intention. Are you there to impress? Or are you there to deliver a message? Make sure it's the second. If you want to impress, it's more likely you'll create a bad impression.
Agreed! Similarly, when you sculpt a statue, you must know what to carve out. That's how you create art.
