@BobHarig Certainly feels like teams are being propped up by synthetic rev rather than generated rev. Love the 3 bullets in your article, really simplifies it. Only other note is that in addition to the host orgs and titles, the Tour has their own marketing partners delivering $100M+++.

@BobHarig Bob, for the 10 teams that they forecast to be profitable, are their tournament prize earnings a part of their revenue that makes them profitable? Or are they self sustainable based on sponsorship $? The former seems like moving dollars from one pocket to another.

@OverDrive1050 Pretty sure his agent was Mike Barnett, not Gillis.

@ZeeManGolf Using those four events, for a multitude of reasons, is not a fair comp to the rest of the tour events. No existing title is going to give up the sponsor attribution for presenting without a significant reduction in fee or massive subsidy from the tour to offset their costs.

@OverDrive1050 @JayOnSC Can we confirm or deny if Nick Robertson x @markhmasters handshake last night at the intermission was related to this?

@tweeth_mitchell Exemptions are continuing to be awarded for the same reasons they always have been. Not because they are board members. If people have an issue with that, cool!

@tweeth_mitchell I’m not. I think(?) your point is that current form is the only thing that matters, while my point is that the spots are being given for a multitude of reasons and not because they’re a board member. You previously referenced merit and then said AS isn’t deserving.

@tweeth_mitchell Also, you said “they” - please tell me you are not challenging the merit of an exemption for Adam Scott? That would be a Stephen A. level smoking hot take.

@tweeth_mitchell Huh? My response was to the idea of receiving exemptions because they are board members. No issues if ppl challenge Webb’s exemption based on current form but a TD isn’t giving the spot because he’s on the board. It’s because of career success and being outstanding with sponsors.

@Daniel_Rapaport Also two of the nicest guys on tour who understand the business of tournaments and will deliver value to the title sponsor with multiple commitments throughout the week. That matters a hell of a lot more than being on the PAC, which quite frankly titles are not concerned about.
