I write poems comparing you to the drugs inside my veins, I write poems comparing me to the high inside your head.
I started smoking because I wanted something to kill me slowly besides you
My father never even cared enough to know if I was a boy or a girl.
You are not the reason why he never could love you the way you deserved to be
I can't look at the night sky without remembering that I fell in love with a boy who had stars in his eyes and the universe in his mind
The morning after he left feels synonymous to the morning after I killed myself
you'll never truly feel the entirety of love until it wraps around you and you think you're temporarily dying.
They told me to do drugs in moderation, but every night I found myself looking for a fix, shooting you into my veins captivated by addiction
my hands were in your hair like you were him
"It's crazy what people would do for a girl like you"
I want to shake life by the hands but instead im kissing death on the cheek
and its now when I notice how empty i've always been
She's the sadness in believing in someone who doesn't believe in themselves
I woke up with paint in my hair and poems written on my arm and realized you were gone.
Leaving drunk voicemails to pay phones like you'll call back in the morning
