If anger is your destination—ARRIVE LATE. Take the long, reflective route. Proverbs 14:29 says, “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” Let’s speak plainly—your speed on the anger lane reveals your depth of understanding. The faster you arrive at anger, the clearer it is how little you truly understand. Anger in itself may sometimes be inevitable—yes, even God gets angry—but the wisdom is in how slowly you get there. Some people treat anger like it’s an autobahn—no speed limit, no brakes, no checks. They go from zero to destruction in seconds. And because of that reckless speed, marriages have collapsed, friendships have shattered, ministries have fractured, and divine alignments have been permanently damaged—all because someone was too fast on the rage road. Let it be known: speed on the anger lane is not strength—it’s the exaltation of foolishness. That’s not my opinion; that’s Scripture. Quick temper is not a badge of honour. It is a broadcast of folly. So what’s the wiser posture? Even if anger is where you must go—ARRIVE LATE. Take the long, reflective route. Detour through patience. Stop at the toll gate of understanding. Refuel at the station of restraint. Park and reflect. Check your tyres—what's fuelling this drive? Check your engine oil—is your heart overheating? If possible, make a U-turn. Pull over. Find anything that can slow you down—call a friend, pray in tongues, walk away, stay silent. Whatever you do, don't accelerate. Give heaven enough time to speak before your emotions speak for you. The mature believer is not the one who never gets angry—it’s the one who doesn’t make a home in it, and who refuses to rush there. So I say to you with all boldness: be slow to anger. Your understanding depends on it. Your relationships depend on it. And your wisdom is revealed by it. Have a great weekend!
