@rogerwaters from your former Cambridge days! Yours faithfully Alan S Gleaves Cambridge U.K November 2020
@rogerwaters So finally If you are ever back in your native Cambridge post COVID-19 pandemic and feel you would like to call in to ‘The Anchor’ or ‘The Eagle’ for a quiet English pint then just drop me a quick line and I would be more than keen to listen to some of your old tales
@rogerwaters a gig including yourself in P Floyd and it is most fitting that Harry should be supporting Nick in a special act of his own.
@rogerwaters Seeing Nick perform at Cambridge Corn Exchange in May 2019 with his “Saucerful of Secrets” band along with your son Harry playing in “McNally Waters” was very special indeed. It was the first time Nick had performed in Cambridge since playing at ‘The Rex’ in 1969 at
@rogerwaters tour in 2007, The Wall Live tour in 2011 and in July 2018 at Hyde Park on your Us & Them tour.
@rogerwaters So that just leaves me to say that it would mean a great deal to me to know that you have read my message to you, my childhood hero and a true rock legend. I have been privileged to have witnessed you perform live on half a dozen occasions including on your DSOTM
@rogerwaters 20 years ago now and self teaching myself by playing along to many of your classic albums over and over again to improve my standard of play.
@rogerwaters an Architect after leaving school, however I ended up in the similar role in becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor and I am happily employed by the University of Cambridge. I also play bass in a local blues band having bought my cherished Fender Precision bass over
@rogerwaters environment/circumstances we were brought up in. I recently listened to your classic ‘Amused to Death’ album again and recalled you saying it was always meant to be the link between DSOTM and The Wall albums. Funnily enough I also had aspirations of becoming
@rogerwaters handful of your old friends and family. A good friend of mine has previously encouraged me to contact you because they tell me that I am not a just a fan of Pink Floyd, but that I am somebody who can actually relate to you. I guess this relates to the similar
@rogerwaters Andrew Rawlinson, David Gale and Stephen Pyle were also accompanying us at the time and they wrrr recalling their own stories from their early days in Cambridge along with yourself. It seemed fairly surreal; for a brief period of time I was in the presence of a
@rogerwaters your passenger! We then caught a glimpse of your mother Mary sat by the window in her lounge at No. 42 ‘Fleetwood’. She was deep in conversation with an old friend.

@rogerwaters Syd’s passing, I joined Warren Dosanjh on one of his arranged walking tours that summer. Along the way we passed the now Sixth Form College on Hills Road, then turned left onto Hartington Grove and then left again onto Rock Road. I registered this as the route of
@rogerwaters now of Stapleford, Cambs & Jeremy Miller to name a few of your old Cambridge acquaintances. It certainly drastically increased my passion for your former band in a short space of time. Having attended the Cambridge City Wakes event in 2008 couple of years after
@rogerwaters subsequently attended Hills Road Sixth Form College in the mid 1990’s to study for A Level’s, I learnt that you also attended the school in its former guise as the Cambridgeshire High School for Boys along with Syd, Storm Thorgerson, Bob Klose, John Gordon, Eric.....
@rogerwaters attention as you went about your daily business. I write to you from my hometown in Cambridge U.K, the city where I grew up and coincidently where I became a huge fan of Pink Floyd and your music from quite a young age. Having been raised in Great Shelford and I
@rogerwaters Dear Roger I thought it was an appropriate time to contact you having witnessed you riding the uptown 6 subway line in NYC in May of last year. I thought it was great that you could just ride the subway anonymously and not have to concern yourself with any unwanted
