This was very sad and unfortunate… it was the first time I saw a magnet quench … and it was a big one…😔😢 😭😭😭

@breakliquid @bertacarbene Superconducting magnets have zero resistance. Quenching typically means the temperature of the magnet rises above the superconducting state and the magnet acquires some resistance. The resistance generates heat, causing the cryogenic liquids to rapidly transform into gas.
