This is interesting given that she has played for Iowa for the past 1,500 days and she got the Nike deal on her 10th day of NOT playing for Iowa.

@alex_kirshner She had a Nike deal already the deal was just timed so it would end now after the college season. I think he is unfortunately probably right that they would have done this either way but she still didn't lose anything turning pro.
@alex_kirshner I don’t know why he won’t admit that her opportunities as a full-time pro are more lucrative than a new deal with the collective she didn’t take money from previously + a shoe deal she didn’t have previously
@alex_kirshner We haven’t yet seen a college athlete with a signature shoe. She had a shoe deal but they timed it to expire now so she could go to market!
@alex_kirshner you’d think he would’ve broke that news a few weeks ago if he knew it was a certainty
@alex_kirshner Her Nike deal at Iowa was already seven figures. That contract expired, so a new deal was agreed upon. Competition from UA and Adidas probably drove it higher though. Good for you Caitlin!
@alex_kirshner Were the tv numbers the anywhere what she just got for the last 1500 days? Actually asking.
@alex_kirshner He probably just randomly falls into tailspins when he remembers he’s gonna have to watch his alma mater play actual football on a practice field this fall
@alex_kirshner Weird hill to die on, but we’ll see how far he takes this. Can’t wait to revisit this conversation after the CC 1’s sell out.
@alex_kirshner The math just isn’t mathing for u is it?
