I don't think the future of knowledge is just about better models. It's also about who keeps checking the facts.
An AI can answer in seconds. The knowledge behind that answer may have taken people years. Take Wikipedia. People find sources, argue over wording, correct mistakes, and keep articles up to date. Wikimedia has pointed out that AI relies on human-documented knowledge like this.
That's the part I keep coming back to. We see the answer appear. We don't see the work that made the answer possible. And if more of us read summaries instead of visiting the source, how do we keep that original work alive?
