Not denying anyone’s experience but when women say their forties are the best time of their life so far I am like, which part, the sandwich generation caregiving part, the insane brain with perimenopause part, the height of career busyness part, or the body falling apart part
Oh or the constantly, always, forever, bone crushing, soul killing weariness that never leaves, no matter how much sleep you get or mostly don’t
@ambernoelle My kids are older and easier now and my parents are young enough so I don't need to care for them yet. 40s is the best decade for many women - it just depends when you had kids and how old your parents are.
@ambernoelle They're wrong, anyway. Late 50s/early 60s is the best. After the menopause is all over and your hormones are all calm and level, but before you start crumbling away with old age.
@ambernoelle The 40's is the worst decade of my life. It will be over next year.
What I am noticing is that people who didn’t have kids or had kids early seem to feel much more positively; it’s us people with little kids in our forties who are dyyyyyyyying lol
