@benjparris @ancient_elf @Bookadamous @darwintojesus Well you could hear the bias when she first said “No”… It’s because she is so caught up in the narrative of what she hears, and prob some exploring. But I don’t claim to know her, just that the mainstream portrays Jesus as being a “Monster”in her word.
@LetJesusGuideUs @benjparris @Bookadamous @darwintojesus The god of the bible is a monster. I thought Jesus was 1/3 of it while being 100% human and 100% god and whatever else. So if they are 3 parts of one, they are the same. Aren’t they ?
@ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus If you read the whole bible and see Jesus as the bad guy, you may want to practice reading comprehension. Jesus is the only god to ever become man and pay for humanity’s evils to make humanity right with God. What monster sacrifices themselves to save everyone else?
@benjparris @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus Cool you ignore most of my point... Your Jesus is a part of a whole, according to your own religion. Ignoring all the horrible things your god did in the Old Testament is like blinding yourself to things you don't want to face. 1/2
@ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus God didn’t do horrible things in the Old Testament, people did and God dealt with them accordingly. Wiping out evil is good, not evil. Like fighting a war against the Nazis was good because they were evil…
@ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus I did not ignore it intentionally, I simply tried to respond within the character limit. You have not responded to my point though, I would like to read your thoughts on Jesus and His teachings.
@benjparris @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus The teachings of Jesus send mixed signals. Some are positive others down right terrifying (reject your family, hate your mother and father to join with me...). He was against wealth, for poor people. Doesn't seem like many christians do this. He was very much a socialist.
@ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus Also a misconception. Socialism is when the governing body own everything and parses it out to people as it sees fit (the ideal is equal but that never happens) Jesus promoted charity, which is more common in capitalist conservatives than any socialist or liberal community.
@benjparris @ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus That is a blatant lie. And "charity" absolutely is NOT what Christ calls for. A common ownership is. Our supposedly "charitable" nation allows hundreds of thousands of people to die of poverty each year, in the name of greed. If that's Christian I'm Babe Ruth.
@ChicagoDonutMan @ancient_elf @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus I don’t disagree that greed still runs rampant in western society. It is everywhere. Christ regularly calls for people to care for the widow and orphan and to be abundantly generous. Also, global poverty rates have rapidly declined since the onset of capitalism (1/2)
@benjparris @ChicagoDonutMan @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus Instead, they preferred to grow their wealth exponentially. This level of inequality is evil.
@ancient_elf @ChicagoDonutMan @LetJesusGuideUs @Bookadamous @darwintojesus I don’t disagree, but that’s not an inherently Christian problem, it’s everywhere. This inequality primarily comes from a small group of elites (central bankers, politicians, etc.) who want absolute control of all people. Very evil indeed.
