The ultimate tragedy of someone living a stagnant life is not that bad things happen to them, but that nothing happens to them, leaving them stranded on the sidelines watching a select few actually play the game while they refuse to participate simply because the stakes are high.
Every astounding victory shadows a thousand brutal losses, so they stay in their shell, watching as other people do what they wish they could, all because they are scared that something might hurt them, permanently condemning themselves to a life of numb, empty voyeurism.
There is a certain type of person everywhere now, especially online.
He consumes endless information every day: philosophy, psychology, productivity, spirituality, neuroscience, business, self-improvement, history.
He knows a little about everything and deeply experiences
No. Let me explain. This is my own philosophy through meditative experience. Knowledge is not confined to time, space, or minds. Though it falsely appears so.
If you can understand what I am going to write, you may get half enlightened already.
What do I mean by knowledge is not confined to space, time, or minds?
For example, it cannot be possible for knowledge to exist only in USA and not India. Though it may appear that in US scientists may have found out something and in India they may not know it. The reality is the knowledge is already there, if the Indian scientists put effort to find it they will eventually "find the knowledge in India."
Similarly, knowledge exists across time. Let's say Newton discovers gravity and its equations. Do you think before his discovery, the equations did not exist? And gravity didn't exist? The knowledge of gravity and its equations were always there. Newton just realised them first and brought them out in concrete terms from Para as Pashyanti, Madhyama, and as Vaikhari when he wrote Principia Mathematica.
Knowledge also exists across minds. Though we may feel someone is more knowledgeable than us. That is, we may feel their mind holds more information and they are aware of more things. It is an illusion. You can also be aware of all the things they are aware of, just that you haven't tried to be them.
So knowledge is boundless in time, space, and consciousness. All knowledge already exists. Of the past, present, future. All we need to do is seek it and it will present itself.
A scientist thinking hard about a problem is such a seeker. She meditates on the problem day and night. And suddenly, an Eureka moment!
A touch of turiya. A brush of her consciousness with Para. Knowledge appears in her mind as a seed (Pashyanti). Then as a thought (Madhyama). Which is then noted down in script or spoken as words (Vaikhari). And shared.
So the experiencer is what is real. Knowledge can be experienced without being aware of it before. Without knowing the answer beforehand we can still experience knowledge. This is why a Ramanujan can write down equations in sleep out of nowhere. And many Seers can experience their true nature without knowing about it beforehand.
