I see Geert Wilders has publicly abandoned the policy of the Netherlands leaving the EU saying. " We see from Brexit that all countries are better off within the European Union. The British showed us the consequences of leaving"
@archer_rs The damage caused both from both a societal and an economic perspective to the UK will take years to fix if ever. And people still lap up the Boris/Farage cool aid as if they are some sort of hero. If its not good enough for Mr Wilders nothing more needs to be said.
@archer_rs And when the EU is swept up in right wing movements what will the remainers be saying then?
@archer_rs @2019_winston He presented his manifesto for the EU parliament elections last week and has removed any references to “Nexit” he now prefers an “intensive economic cooperation” with the EU.
@archer_rs Yes, interesting to note that after eight years there’s no race for the door across EU just as Farage et al predicted. Even Le Pen had second thoughts as I recall
@archer_rs It’s certainly an extraordinary U-turn compared to his earlier position. euractiv.com/section/future…
@archer_rs He gave up weeks ago when he found out that forming a government means you have to get on with your partners in power. He was fine sharing it’s just that nobody else wanted to be even vaguely associated with him.
@archer_rs …but…but…they’ll all follow suit when we leave, right?
