If Cloudflare is leaning into becoming the go to platform for vibe coded apps (launch of @voidzerodev void.cloud) - small apps, personal software, internal tooling - how will their pricing change? These apps naturally have very few users and will never move out of the free tier. We will see less multi tenant saas - software that demands complex and expensive compute and infra to allow for scale. Tooling like void makes practical sense in a move to make cloudflare the home of small apps but will Cloudflare’s pricing be updated to reflect this change? @eastdakota any thoughts?

One pattern I find useful for working with LLMs is a nice long ramble session. Sometimes the LLM needs more bits to understand what you're trying to achieve, but you're too lazy to type them. In these cases I like to lean back, switch to /voice and just ramble for like 10 minutes, total mess, anything goes, full stream of consciousness. Sometimes I declare it up top, something like "switching to speech recognition sorry for any typos...". Sometimes I turn it into a small interview of a few turns. But I find that the LLMs are somehow very good at reconstructing long incoherent rambles and often their echo of your own tangle of thoughts comes out quite a bit cleaner than what you started with. The result is that you improve the mind meld and have to correct things less from that point on.
The age of bespoke, personalised software has presented software developers with a new set of challenges. When building saas, challenges included scalability, multi tenancy, security, maintenance of very large codebases, sprawling product features etc. Today, I pretty much live in free tiers, manage single tenant products with a very focused set of features, with user data isolation as a default - a new customer, a new deployment environment. This has introduced a different set of challenges including juggling infrastructure and accounts, trying to reuse the same code for problems that are 80% similar, and propagating changes across the seams of different deployments. Solutions that I have come across include: - Instead of sharing code, share detailed specs. - Infra is part of the product. @CloudflareDev is on track to make this even easier. Make sure deploying the app is easy and can be done from a config file. Pateintly waiting for @voidzerodev. - Create "glue" tooling that allows you to manage migrations to different prod DBs. @DrizzleORM with some of my own tooling makes this easier. I am still working it out but it seems most tools and their pricing models are yet to adapt to this new way of distributing software but we are on the right track!
