If asteroid 2024 YR4 hits the Moon in 2032, the 10 Megaton blast will make a crater about 1.5km in diameter, bigger than Meteor Crater in Arizona (shown here). That's about a billion tons of rock tossed out of the crater. Not a good day for an astronaut on the Moon!

Asteroid 2024 YR4 still has a 4.1% chance of hitting the Moon on Dec 22, 2032. The @NASA JWST is scheduled to attempt more observations in a few months, which are likely to reduce the orbit uncertainty and increase those odds.
The old adage "pull on stick houses get smaller, push on stick and houses get larger" doesn't work when you are upside down. Instead you have to think about which way you are pulling the nose.

It's actually rather amazing how well objects in orbit around Earth can be tracked. We can tell to within a few hundred meters where an orbiting object in LEO moving at 18 thousand MPH will be in 3 days.
