Every member of a team is there for a purpose. They have a role to play and it is their responsibility to play that role to the best of their ability. All players have a responsibility to their team, their coaches, and to themselves.

In sport, successful athletes learn how to emotionally detach themselves from things that can't be changed. When you are focusing on things outside of your control, you are draining your positive energy and wasting time. It leads to anxiety, frustration, and fear.

Don’t depend on others to build your confidence or validate your sense of worth. You must believe & have confidence in yourself. Take control of the things that you can control. Work hard and always compete. Have a positive and optimistic attitude. Be honest and trustworthy.

College coaches look for more than just talent. They definitely look for athletes with high character that always give their best effort no matter what the score or situation. They look for players that are coachable, positive, gritty, and bring out the best in their teammates.
