“shoegaze” will go mainstream in the back half of the 2020s, but as party music. it will be a dubstep situation where the meaning of the word basically changes. the new version will probably layer the crusty distortion of blackgaze over what is otherwise basically pop music

This is a bad article. It’s very frustrating to me that Pitchfork omitted the Philly Scene, Latin American gaze, and grossly misclassified Yves Tumor as Shoegaze. WHERE is Terraplana? sonhos tomam conta? Where are anyone on the roster of Sello Fisura? TAGABOW? Full Body 2?
