The only TEs picked in the top-50 who signed multi-year contracts with their drafted teams in the last 10 years are Njoku, Goedert, and Kmet. (Most haven't hit, and the others don't produce until their second contracts.) ((I still would take Brock Bowers at 10th overall.))
@austingayle_ You posted evidence suggesting it is a bad idea but will do it anyway? Must be a raiders fan.
@austingayle_ Still awesome to consider that around 19% of tight ends taken in the top 50 in the past decade were drafted last year.
@austingayle_ Tight end is so tough because having a great one is SO valuable but draft history says it’s completely stupid to invest big-time draft capital into them. I’m Team Take a Freak Athlete Round 3-5 Every Year Until You Hit
@austingayle_ I haven’t thought about Austin Sefarian-Jenkins in a long time
@austingayle_ The worst idea in football is using a high pick on a Tight End.
@austingayle_ Kelce r3 Gronk r2 Gonzo r1 Gates Undr. Winslow r1 Sharpe r7 Witten r3 Mackey r2 Ozzie r1 Graham r3 Slater r3 Olsen r1.31 Ditka r1 (1961) Casper r2 Is Bowers a Gonzo-Ozzie-Kellen? or should this production come cheaper?
@austingayle_ What does the rate look like at other positions?
@austingayle_ Kinda feel like Hockenson is a weird case no? the lions just werent in position to pay him, but i dont think it was hockensons fault
