@chrissyteigen The easy way to catch escaped hamster harmlessly. Get a plastic bucket 10-12 inches tall. Use books to build a stairway to the top of bucket. Spread hamster food up and around the books and add a little to bucket as well. Your furry fugitive will follow food right into it.
