Do not be assured that he is in your hands, and [that] you see him, For it may be that he is present with his body, [but] stolen and absent with his thoughts, manners, and creed.

Get closer to your children, converse with them, ask after their desires, discuss with them their needs, For we are in a time, how quick is the slipping away of a child from his home, family, and parents [in it].

Be the bigger person. Let arguments go; not bigger in the sense of pride or knowledge, but to back down, be humble & apologize if needed. Ask yourself before arguing: Who are you trying to prove yourself to? The Almighty knows what’s in your heart; so who else matters? Nobody!

When you stain your tongue with slander, backbiting and gossip, your spirituality goes down significantly. You may think you’re harming the other person but in actual fact, you’re harming yourself. So learn to hold your tongue because it has the power to make you or break you!

Sometimes when in a crisis, the only option we have is to hope things will get better. Together with prayer, hope and patience are great qualities to get us through the toughest of times. Remember, no difficulty is permanent. The Almighty has promised us with hardship comes ease!

It is sad that today in my country Nigeria, getting a Man of Honor and strong principles is more difficult than looking for a needle in the haystack worse still among those who have dubbed themselves leaders of the Nation, cheap hustlers all

And for what? I ask For whatever it is It is an unending task of water in a straw basket And we keep doing so unless we stop Consciously stop and change this story And change this narrative of doom For us and the world we call Our own. 5/5 ----------- 11.1.18 #poetry #poet

Like the depressed old lady a few blocks away And the hungry little orphan licking his cracked lips as we walk by Even nation and nations ravaged in unprecedented years of agony, pain and war Its an ironic misrepresentation As we sell the human in us Slowly slowly we do so 4/5

And now the black man Stands side by side Equal in value to soul-less notes And now even I am as clueless as you As I say this to the world Without shame of holding my tears back That I do not understand Why we live in ignorance of all woes staring us in the face 3/4 or 5

Do you have an idea or two? Why humans habe become animals With every sense of reasoning Out the window Leaving in its wake A savage snort of greediness That evaluates his fellowman As a commodity of worthlessness Except for a few hundred of dollars #poetry #wordsrule

Do you know? Just how much it hurts? When that brown-eyed kiddo Walks with her bare feet On the scalding pavement of Obalende Looking at passersby as they walk on this street of Lagos Oblivious to her pain A story birthed by death, hunger and rape 1/4
