Mets are competing with some of the best teams of the league. Buttó has already solidified a rotation spot, Scott is a month or two away from doing the same thing himself, Hamel will also get his shot. Then Acuña comes up at some point as well as Gilbert. Lavender as well. #LGM
@baseballmets86 My concern w/ holding Scott back for 2 months is this. He's only going to throw a max of 120-125 IP this season. So why would the Mets, in theory "waste" half of them at AAA? Especially if they feel he's one of the top 5 SP's in the organization
@baseballmets86 Definitely exciting times to be a Mets fan. Also this team may look different in 3 months as you pointed out. It’d be unwise to sleep on them
@baseballmets86 It’s so cool to have the MLB team be intriguing and constantly seeing minor league highlights because the talent is there and ON THE WAY. Exciting times ahead!
@baseballmets86 Gilbert isn’t coming up this year. Acuna has a slight chance because he is on the 40 man. Gilbert has played 7 games at AAA and he is already injured. He also has 10 SO in 25 AB. And if Acuna don’t start hitting, he isn’t coming up either.
@baseballmets86 @smonk318 Every team the @Mets have played so far has had a winning record. So far, we've held our own. Pittsburgh is another winning team. We GOT this. @LFGM! #LGM!
@baseballmets86 It's unlikely that all of the players you mentioned will be good major leaguers. Not all prospects pan out. They don't need all of them to pan out. They do have a bright future. Acuna, Gilbert, and Lavender have all struggled at AAA so far. It's early and they can adjust.
