Priest of Three Temples: The Enduring Story of Professor B.B. FAKAE Some stories are tied to dates. Others outlive them. On March 27, 2026, Rivers State University became the setting for one of such enduring moments, the unveiling of “Priest of Three Temples,” the biography of Professor B.B. FAKAE, in celebration of his 70th year. But what emerged from that gathering was more than an event; it was the formal recognition of a life whose relevance continues to expand. Authored by his son, Nia’Bari Fakae, the 16-chapter book frames Professor FAKAE not just as a scholar, but as a man who has built his life’s work across three powerful spheres—academia, faith, and community. At the colloquium, hosted by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Zeb-Obipi, and chaired by High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Chairman of Platform Petroleum and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ijaw Nation Worldwide, the atmosphere reflected the weight of a legacy that cuts across disciplines and generations. Priest of Three Temples introduces a compelling thesis: that Professor FAKAE’s life is best understood as a form of priesthood, where his “temples” are not buildings, but platforms of service. In academia, he has shaped institutions and minds. In faith, he serves as National Secretary of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, influencing spiritual direction at a national level. In community development, his impact is both practical and far-reaching, most notably in his role supporting the actualization of the UNEP Report on Ogoniland and the ongoing work of HYPREP in environmental remediation. What makes this story enduring is not just what he has done, but how consistently his work has translated into value for others, quietly, steadily, and across decades. Through this biography, Nia’Bari Fakae offers more than documentation; he offers perspective, a way to understand leadership as service, and influence as responsibility.
