For me it’s easy, a moving car on parked car collision is minor and no injury involved. A moving car on a bicycle - that’s a potentially life changing injury. These are not equivalent at all.

I’m sure as hell careful with anyone smaller than my 18 wheeler. The same should apply to this UPS driver (who should know better). Are you exhausted by simple rules of the road?

@chi_streets I’m not holding my breath for DLSD becoming a boulevard with at grade intersections for the whole stretch. It’s a highway, and it will stay a highway. The slightly better improvement than it is now is to elevate or bury the DLSD from Monroe to 12th or 18th.

@UPS @jepaco There is a loading zone 20 feet prior to where the truck is parked AND there is a lot of street parking 20 feet in front of the truck around the corner! Apparently your driver thought that they might as well save himself these 20 feet at the expense of safety of bicycle riders.
