Overgrazing by yaks is degrading Qinghai’s ecosystems. Environmental managers are promoting harvesting cordyceps medicinal fungus instead of herding yaks. Cordyceps harvesting is profitable so herders are making money—with which they buy more yaks. 2/2 #ECCB2018

Raja Ampat MPAs), community mgt. targets are rarely achieved short-term. So the debate revolves around having an imperfect plan or no plan, given planning is never perfect or linear.
