And it's getting worse: we're seeing 11-12 grade students NOW who are behind 4-5 years in math. Many come to us unable to perform basic 5th-8th grade math, but have A's in HS classes. Parents need to know how bad it is: your child's A in "Honors Alg II" tells us nothing.

UPDATE: KDE now telling schools contract for 11TH grade SAT is under "protest" and to sit tight until resolved. Not sure if this is internal (schools /districts) protesting change or possibly ACT with questions about the awarding process. 🤷‍♂️

So KY became an SAT state overnight? KDE telling districts 11th grade assessment will no longer be ACT starting THIS school year. Easy transition for us, because we've tutored both for quite awhile, but a lot of work for schools, testing sites, and possibly our state universities

The (very few) students with true test anxiety we've worked with OVER prepare, because it's ever-present. Weeks in advance they ask for extra help, study too long, and want additional practice materials. Others are just nervous on test day because they know they haven't prepared.

After seeing kids have to scroll up and down to see a full graph or table on the digital ACT today, I really don't think digital is the best option for everything. Sometimes paper is just better. #sorrynotsorry
