@WapoEngineering @rkellett Both are very attractive features. But podcasts are not intrinsically paywalled. I see the podcast show as advertising+journalism.

(5) @washingtonpost I hugely respect the craft of writing good journalism and wish someone could read it to me, a human voice reading the originally written article, and have it organized such that I could queue up a list of articles I want to listen to as a stream.

(4) @washingtonpost But when I listen to a podcast, I can be washing dishes, driving, riding the bus, taking out the garbage, etc, etc. I have so many more opportunities to listen than I do to read.

(3) @washingtonpost I realized that if I could listen to these articles, I'd be able to consume a lot more of them than having to read them. When I read, I have to put everything else aside and only focus my eyes on the article in front of me.

(2) @washingtonpost Yet modern life has made it very difficult for me to actually consume much of that content. My Apple News stream sends me so many genuinely interesting articles, yet I never have time to read them and they fall off the list after a week of stagnation.

(1) I love many of the articles from my digital subscription to @washingtonpost; they are so interesting, well written, and researched. The people who write for the Post have clearly dedicated their lives to the craft of writing and journalism.
