A lot of people said these tests were racist & classist. But in some sense the exact opposite is true: An exceptional SAT score can be a game-changer for disadvantaged students who can't afford fancy extracurriculars. This is a good decision.

@billybinion They're always going to have a problem with standardized testing because it conflicts with their religious beliefs about race.
@billybinion Standardized tests are biased, but they’re less biased than basically every reasonable alternative, so on balance they do in fact level the playing field.
@billybinion On the contrary, these schools are going to use the tests to actually boost diversity. A lot of minorities with lower-than average scores weren't submitting, although the schools would've been happy to take a chance on them. They're going to hunt for more disadvantaged kids.
