Useful recipe for a gel staining solution from Resner (1975): 0.4% Coomassie G‑250 in 3.5% perchloric acid (HClO₄). It’s easy to prepare, and the solution is stable for up to six months. Almost no background staining, while the detection sensitivity is high.
